Why and how do you offer this service for free?

The hosting fees as well as the domain name are already covered by the parent project loqal.ch, this site was created as a side project to test web technologies on a smaller scale while being anchored in the broader vision of the loqal.ch project.

Can I only find babysitters on this site?

No, this site also allows you to find daycare mothers, nannies, or young au pairs, but for simplicity and to avoid confusion, we use the generic term "babysitter" to refer to all types of childcare service providers. If you think it would be useful to add a type of service, contact us by email.

How does the babysitter search work?

Our search primarily works by geographic proximity. Each babysitter defines their main city and a service radius (in kilometers) when creating their profile. The system automatically calculates all cities and villages within this radius where the babysitter agrees to work. Parents thus only see babysitters who are actually available in their area.

Create a free account, search for babysitters in your area, browse their detailed profiles, and contact them directly through the methods chosen by the babysitter when creating their profile (message via our integrated system, email, WhatsApp, Messenger, phone).

How do I know if a babysitter is reliable?

Review detailed babysitter profiles that include their experience, training, certifications (Red Cross, first aid), and reviews left by other parents. Babysitters with a verification badge have confirmed their identity with our administrators. Read reviews carefully and don't hesitate to communicate extensively through messages before making a decision.

Can I search for babysitters with specific skills?

Yes, our search system allows you to filter babysitters by multiple criteria: spoken languages, experience with different age groups (babies, toddlers, school-age children, teenagers), driver's license or car ownership, availability (morning, afternoon, evening, night), additional services (homework help, meal preparation, creative activities), and specific certifications.

Are there transaction or booking fees?

No, absolutely no fees. We don't take any commission on payments between parents and babysitters. Financial arrangements and payment methods should be agreed directly between you and the babysitter. Our platform only facilitates the connection.

What should I do if I have a problem with a babysitter?

We encourage you to first communicate directly with the babysitter to resolve any misunderstandings. If the problem persists or is serious, contact our team by email. You can also leave an honest review on the babysitter's profile to inform other parents. Our team takes all reports seriously and can intervene if necessary.

How do I become a babysitter on this platform?

Sign up for free by creating an account, then complete your babysitter profile by following the steps: basic information, experience and preferences, work area and service radius, availability and rates, documents and verification. Once all steps are completed, your profile will be immediately visible to parents looking for a babysitter in your area.

How do I define my work area?

When creating your profile, you select your main city and define a radius in kilometers (e.g., 10 km, 20 km). The system automatically calculates all cities and villages within this radius where you are available. You can then refine this selection by manually adding specific locations or removing certain places where you prefer not to work. This flexibility allows you to precisely control where you want to work.

How much do I have to pay to use the platform?

Nothing at all! Using the platform is completely free for babysitters. No monthly subscription, no registration fees, no commission on your earnings. You set your own rates and receive 100% of your earnings directly from parents. Our goal is to facilitate your work, not take a share of your salary.

Are my personal documents secure?

Absolutely. The documents you upload for identity verification are only visible to you and our administrators. Once your identity is verified and you receive the verification badge, all documents are automatically deleted from our servers.

I do not want my phone number/email to be visible.

No problem. When creating your profile, you can choose the contact methods you want to make available to parents (internal messaging, email, WhatsApp, Messenger, phone). If you do not want your phone number or email to be visible, simply do not select those options.

How do I set my rates?

You are free to set your own rates based on your experience, qualifications, and rates practiced in your area. Check profiles of other babysitters in your zone to get an idea of market prices. Don't forget to consider your certifications (Red Cross, first aid), your years of experience, and additional services you offer (homework help, meal preparation, activities). You can indicate a price range (minimum-maximum) for more flexibility.

How do I handle contact requests?

When a parent contacts you via messaging, you receive a notification. Respond quickly and professionally to increase your chances of being chosen. Ask questions about specific needs (age of children, frequency, schedule), share your relevant experience, and be clear about your availability and rates. Suggest a first meeting to get acquainted. Responsiveness and clear communication are essential to establish trust.
